To qualify as a small entity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Typically a nonprofit organization, university, or company with fewer than 500 employees
• Has not assigned or licensed interest in the invention to a non-small entity

Please note: If more than one inventor will be on the patent application, each inventor must individually meet this criteria.
